Channel 4 social media content
Channel 4 came to us with a problem. Marketing material and promos designed to be viewed on-air simply weren’t working when replicated in their existing form via social media. They needed a way of engaging with their audience who were short on time and viewing content on the move with smaller screens, often without the aid of audio.

Our solution was to design a way of effectively communicating this content via sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, that not only addressed these limitations but actually played to their advantage. Text could fill the screen, narratives could build over time and content could react to events happening that very moment. It also allowed more creative freedom with editing, typography and composition. Working with Channel 4’s new branding and distinctive type face we pushed the boundaries of what was possible, developing an innovative new look that took things far beyond standard captions and subtitles.

In collaboration with Landy Slattery and Madeleine Smith at 4 Creative, we created a host of elements including promos, animated gifs, memes, listicals and rewards videos for shows such as SAS: Who Dares Wins, Catastrophe, Black Lesbian Handbook, Peepshow, The Inbetweeners and The Jump.
